Creation of Espiga
Espiga Records and Publishing was established in 2006 by Ruben and Salomon Alcocer Guajardo to produce, market, and disseminate their original literary, musical, and photographic work of art. The catalyst for creating Espiga was confronting an individual attempting to retail the material copyrighted by Ruben and Salomon as if it was his own and without obtaining the explicit written consent of the authors. Because of this event, Espiga was founded to be a privately owned and controlled recording and publishing company with the purpose of promulgating the copyrighted material of Ruben and Salomon Alcocer Guajardo and select artists into the market place.
Although Espiga is charged with bringing the works of arts produced by Ruben and Salomon into the market place, they retain the copyrights to their individual and collective literary, musical, and photographic works of art. As authors, creators, and copyright holders of their individual and collective works of art, they do not permit competing commercial enterprises to use their material without their explicit written consent.
Espiga’s Vision
Espiga Records and Publishing and its founders envision growing the company into a nationally and internationally respected recording and publishing enterprise. It will do so by producing original literary and musical products of the highest quality in English and Spanish.
